By 2030, renewable sources could provide as much as half of the world’s electricity production, offering excellent growth for investors.
The renewable energy market is powering forward and is presenting a sea of opportunity for investment. The international renewable energy market is expected to increase to $777.6 billion in 2019, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10.3% from 2014 to 2019.
In the United States, three cities, Aspen, Kansas and Vermont are already 100% powered by renewable energy sources, and twenty more cities including New York, California and San Diego have pledged to become 100% powered by renewables within the next twenty years.
In Holland, in 2016, all trains were run by 75% from wind power, and they have pledged that in 2017 that all trains will be 100% powered by wind. In Denmark, wind power generates 140% of their electricity demand, with the surplus being distributed to Germany, Norway and Sweden. In Portugal, electricity generated by renewables grew from around 23% in 2013 to 48% in 2015. In May 2016, for four days straight Portugal’s entire electricity supply was generated by renewables. In Costa Rica, 285 days were completely provided by renewables.
